Cabinet approves India-Afghanistan MoU on human resource development

New Delhi [India], Dec 17 (ANI): The Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Afghanistan for cooperation in the field of human resource development.
The MoU is aimed at facilitating students and faculty of educational institutions in Afghanistan to register and use the SWAYAM courses. It would also facilitate them to upload the courses developed in Afghanistan on Study Webs of Active -Learning for Young Aspiring Minds programme or SWAYAM.
"The required training to students and faculty from Afghanistan would be imparted by MHRD, Government of India," read a press statement.
Through this MoU, the Government of India would provide access and share the technology of other major Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Initiatives in Education such as National Digital Library of India (NDLI), Virtual Labs, Spoken Tutorials.
The MoU also proposes the establishment of a Joint Master Degree Programmes between Indian and Afghanistan Universities and Institutions.
Ministry of Human Resource Development will also assist the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan in the areas of Curriculum Development and Capacity Development of Teaching Staff.
"Through this MoU, both the countries agree to sign an agreement on mutual recognition of academic qualifications. This is expected to promote student mobility under Study in India program, by attracting more foreign students to come and study in Afghan Institutions," stated the press release. (ANI)
